Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Gorden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerhard Franke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Gorden has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Gorden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerhard Franke! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franke waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Gorden. Franke stuffs the takedown. Gorden avoids the body shot from Franke.
Franke misses with a wild combination.
Franke misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gorden.
Gorden shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Franke sprawls well. Franke wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gorden gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gorden throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Franke was covering up waiting for the punch and Gorden finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franke doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Franke throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Gorden escapes and throws Franke's legs to the side, diving into side control! Gorden content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Franke tries to buck Gorden off but Gorden is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Franke is trying to work for a sweep but Gorden has mounted him! Franke working to try and regain half guard.
Franke manages to regain half guard. Good work. Franke keeps control of the position for the meantime. Franke tries to get to full guard but Gorden has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gorden blocks the strikes from Franke.
Franke slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Gorden could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Franke tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gorden postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Franke is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gorden, into his guard. Franke trying to control the position from guard on top but Gorden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Franke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gorden swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Franke with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alex Gorden will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Franke takes a swing at Gorden's ribcage but misses. Franke swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Gorden will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gorden tries to clinch but Franke moves out of range. Franke throws a body punch but Gorden moves out of range. Gerhard Franke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Franke tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gorden was well out of range. Poor timing from Franke. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Franke fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gorden manages to avoid it. Alex Gorden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gorden fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Franke avoids it really well and circles away. A jab from Franke does it's job there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franke digs a good hook to Gorden's body.
Franke looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gorden! Franke wants to control the pace but Gorden is squirming around nicely. Franke goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gorden turns into him and now he's in Franke's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franke throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Franke seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Gorden stopping the sweep attempt from Franke. Franke has an active guard here but Gorden has managed to pass into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franke is looking to control Gorden's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Franke avoid being mounted? Franke controlling the position well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Franke is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Franke is pressing down on Gorden's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Franke looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gorden is one step ahead there. Gorden might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Franke trying to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gerhard Franke showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Gorden takes one on the button. Gorden shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Franke counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gorden keeping full guard, as Franke tries to pass. Franke drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gorden dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franke looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gorden is one step ahead there. Franke is trying to keep Gorden in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Franke throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Franke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Franke pulls Gorden in close to prevent any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franke not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Gorden shoots and misses and Franke counters with a left to the body. Franke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gorden moves away. Franke throws a hook but Gorden avoids it easily. A punch combination from Franke misses. Gorden drops his hands momentarily and Franke takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gorden with a poor takedown and Franke counters with a lovely shot to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Gorden. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gorden on the wrong end of a nice jab. Franke lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Alex Gorden has been cut. Gorden gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Gorden misses with a takedown attempt and Franke counters with a right hand to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gorden uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Franke.
Franke tries to clinch up so Gorden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that's the end of the fight! Gerhard Franke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Franke has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
