Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sam Salter (ranked 4446 p4p, 2425 weight class) and Jeryl Christ (ranked 401 p4p, 263 weight class). Salter comes to the ring accompanied by Dead Or Alive. Jeryl Christ acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Salter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jeryl Christ!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christ throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Salter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Christ wants to stand but Salter is controlling the position.
Salter controls from within his opponent's guard.
Salter won't allow Christ to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Christ is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Christ throws a right and a left that Salter avoids nicely.
Salter drops down looking for a counter takedown but Christ sprawls and moves away.
Christ moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Salter goes for a double leg but Christ avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Christ continues to drive forward.
Salter is looking to take this one to the mat.
Christ makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Christ escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Salter with a poor takedown
and Christ counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Salter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Salter walks into a straight right hand from Christ.
Salter has his takedown stuffed
and Christ makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Christ throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Salter scores with a takedown into Christ's guard.

Salter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Salter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Christ is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Salter is controlling him.
Christ keeping full guard, as Salter tries to pass.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Salter stops Christ from standing up.
Christ wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Salter manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Christ wants to get back to his feet.

Salter looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Christ is refusing to be controlled, as Salter sits in half guard.
Salter stops Christ from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Christ throws a hook to the side of Salter's head but Salter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jeryl Christ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Christ throws out a powerful jab.
Christ dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Left hook, right uppercut from Christ.
Salter shoots in looking for a takedown but Christ manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Salter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Christ stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Christ wants it to stay on the feet.
Salter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Christ tests Salter's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Salter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Christ connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Christ is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Salter.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Christ lands with an uppercut that bounces Salter off the ropes and back into range.
Nice jab there from Christ.

Christ tries to sprawl but Salter drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Salter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Christ really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Salter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Christ is looking to escape.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Danga de danga de dang - Christ scores with a four punch combination!
Christ throws a jab when Salter was well out of range.
Christ goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Christ has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Sloppy strikes from Christ. Those never looked like landing.
Salter attempts a counter takedown but Christ avoids it well and moves away.
Christ has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Sam Salter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Salter moves out of range as Christ strikes.
Nice takedown defense from Christ. No joy for Salter on that attempt.
Christ has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Christ listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Christ scores with a sloppy right hand. Salter should have avoided that one.
Salter fails with a takedown attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Christ drops Salter with a beautiful combination! Salter stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Christ is looking for the KO!

Salter looks for a takedown but Christ sprawls well.

Oh Salter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Salter takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Salter seems to have got his legs back now.
Christ darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Christ feints with a jab and clips Salter right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Salter is sent crashing into the canvas and Christ leaps in for the kill! Salter tries to get to his feet but Christ is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Salter is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeryl Christ!
Jeryl Christ thanked the fans post fight for their support.
Sam Salter was interviewed post fight and said 'I think it may be time to hang up the gloves. Its been fun at times but Im over this time to go kill myself and family chris benoit style.'.
