Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Smith (ranked 4679 p4p, 2712 weight class) and Dalmour Daxton (ranked 0 p4p, 338 weight class). Jerry Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jerry Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dalmour Daxton!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith looking to score a takedown here. Daxton is defending well but Smith drives through and ends up in Daxton's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Smith stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Daxton, pushing him back against the cage.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Smith breaks the clinch.
Daxton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Daxton with the counter takedown but Smith avoids it easily.

Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Daxton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Daxton manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smith stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Daxton to get to his feet.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Daxton makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Daxton tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Daxton fails with a takedown attempt.
Jerry Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dalmour Daxton.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Daxton enables Smith to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Daxton manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Smith looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Smith seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Daxton for as long as he can get away with.
Smith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Daxton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Smith throws a big elbow that misses.
Daxton is trying to keep Smith in close.

Smith has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Daxton to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Smith is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Daxton pulls down on the head and he's put Smith to sleep! This one is all over!
