Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Scott might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Massive Attack - One thought at a time. Morris has chosen The Kids Aren't Alright - The Offspring as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Rocky Morris enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, James Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Morris! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott closes the distance and clinches up with Morris, looking for a takedown. Scott pushes Morris against the cage but Morris circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Scott is defended easily by Morris. Scott drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Scott throws a strike aimed at the side of Morris's head but Morris avoids it well. Morris avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Scott. Scott lands an elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scott working away. Scott is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morris is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Scott goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Morris has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Scott but great work by Morris. Scott can't do much from the bottom here. Morris wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Scott, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Morris scores with a couple of short elbows. Morris tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Morris has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Scott struggling a bit here. Scott tries to get back to half guard but can't. Scott throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Scott is looking for a sweep. Scott regains half guard, as Morris was trying to land strikes. Scott looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Morris closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Scott manages to work his way to half guard, despite Morris's best efforts. Morris wants to control but Scott is keeping him busy. Scott is trying to control but can't.
Morris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scott keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morris is thwarting Scott's attempts to control the position. Morris wants to work for an arm triangle but Scott is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Scott tries to roll over but Morris keeps him under control. Scott slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Scott is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Scott with a poor takedown and Morris counters with a single leg into guard. Scott didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scott looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Morris has picked Scott up and slammed him! Scott can't keep hold of the triangle and Morris manages to pass to side control! Morris moves into full mount! Morris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Morris with a flurry of punches that miss. Morris working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Scott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. James Scott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Scott is trying to work for a kimura but Morris is defending well.

Scott lands a nice shot to the head. Scott jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Morris is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Morris and Scott has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Scott cracks Morris with an elbow. That is naaassty. Scott thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Morris is trying to control Scott's posture but Scott avoids it. Morris tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morris wants to control but Scott postures up. Scott landing strikes. Scott is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Morris knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Scott working the body and head with strikes. Morris is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Scott off and has taken his back! Morris is not going to allow Scott to sit and survive in this position. Scott turns into Morris and is now in his guard.
Morris has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Scott is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Morris. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Scott lands a decent elbow from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott shoots and misses and Morris counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Scott! Scott sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Scott makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Scott. Morris throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Scott works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Morris wants to pass the guard but Scott is keeping the position. Scott lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Morris! Morris is in all sorts of trouble here.
Morris takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Scott with a couple of short strikes. Scott trying to control but Morris is having none of it. The referee warns Morris that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott working away from the top, dropping strikes. Morris is desperately trying to improve his position but Scott has a good base and remains in mount. Scott trying to control but he's not successful this time. Scott is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Morris is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Morris taking shots to the head. Scott working for a guillotine from mount but Morris is in no mood to give up. Morris is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
