The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Experiment lV gets caught flat footed, as Damba shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Damba (2) vs (0) Experiment lV Damba pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Experiment lV is keeping the position for now. Experiment lV seems keen to control Damba's posture. Damba wants to pass the guard but Experiment lV is keeping the position. Experiment lV throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Damba escapes and throws Experiment lV's legs to the side, diving into side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Damba (5) vs (0) Experiment lV Damba tries to move into full mount but can't pass Experiment lV's legs. Experiment lV is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Experiment lV is letting Damba control him for a moment. Damba tries for a kimura but Experiment lV is defending well. Damba tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Damba has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Damba tries to move to mount but Experiment lV blocks the move with his legs. Experiment lV can't do much from the bottom here. Damba is trying to get an arm triangle but Experiment lV is defending well. Damba taking a breather here. Experiment lV tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Damba wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Damba is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Experiment lV has escaped the position, nice work there. Damba is looking to take a break and control but Experiment lV is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Damba works to advance to full mount. Experiment lV defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Score +2 for reaching mount: Damba (7) vs (0) Experiment lV Experiment lV tries to lock up and control but Damba gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Experiment lV holds of for dear life. Experiment lV working to try and regain half guard.
Damba tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Damba fails to take his opponent's back. Experiment lV regains half guard. Experiment lV wants to improve his position but Damba is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Experiment lV actively working from the bottom here. Experiment lV makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Experiment lV. Damba has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Experiment lV to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Damba is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Experiment lV pulls down on the head and he's put Damba to sleep! This one is all over!
