Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Ruas (ranked 4806 p4p, 4795 weight class) and Diatomaceous Smiff (ranked 568 p4p, 566 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smiff closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ruas did well to prevent Smiff getting side control.
Smiff thows a huge punch but Ruas dodges it nicely.

Ruas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smiff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smiff distracts Ruas with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Smiff postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Ruas shoots in for a double leg but Smiff sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Smiff manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ruas on his heels. He'll look to pass Ruas's guard now, I'm sure.

Ruas has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Smiff should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Ruas has tightened it up now! Smiff should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
