Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Low!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Miyata San!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Low takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
San avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Low throws a jab but it's blocked by San.
Low misses the jab.
Low throws a right and a left that San avoids nicely.
San keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Low.
A slow jab from Low misses its intended target.
San walks into a straight right hand from Low.
Low throws a combination that misses
and San counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Low is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and San dives into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Low is looking to work his way out of this bad position but San is controlling him well.
San working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
San lands a decent elbow from side control.
Low has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
San cracks Low with a big elbow.
San trying to control the action but Low is working from the bottom.
San scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Low to see if he's OK.
San scores with punches from side control.
San prevents Low from escaping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
San cracks Low with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! San immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Low is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by San!
