Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Gracie (ranked 2974 p4p, 3142 weight class) and Oliver Smith (ranked 365 p4p, 393 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chuck Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Oliver Smith! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Gracie with that takedown attempt. Smith throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely. Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie. Gracie drops down looking for a counter takedown but Smith sprawls and moves away. Gracie checks a leg kick nicely. Smith lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Chuck Gracie has been cut. Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gracie fails to land the takedown. Smith misses with a low kick. Gracie looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Smith has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Gracie fails with the takedown and Smith counters with a crisp one two that drops Gracie! Smith thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Gracie to his feet! Gracie is in big trouble! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith misses with a double jab.
Gracie shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well. Smith raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Gracie goes for a double leg but Smith avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Smith continues to drive forward. Smith lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Gracie being controlled against the cage. Smith tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gracie avoids it. Smith manages to break the clinch.
Chuck Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gracie dives in and grabs Smith's left leg, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet. Smith cracks Gracie with a good jab. Smith throws a low kick but Gracie avoids it. Smith moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Gracie showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Smith looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well. Gracie appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Gracie could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side. Smith misses with a double jab.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gracie has his takedown stuffed and Smith counters with a three punch combo that has Gracie backing up. Gracie nods at Smith to acknowledge the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gracie fails to land the takedown. Smith throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease. Smith looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away. Gracie has a takedown stuffed. Smith is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smith defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Smith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Gracie is working for takedown but Smith is calmly controlling the position for now. Smith stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Gracie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gracie tries to counter with a takedown but Smith is quick to defend against it. Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Smith tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gracie has a takedown stuffed. Smith swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Smith misses with a body kick. Gracie misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gracie tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gracie goes for a double leg but Smith avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Smith continues to drive forward. Gracie fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Smith is pushing Gracie up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith is stalling here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gracie is looking to take this one to the mat. Gracie is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Gracie can't get the takedown.
Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Oliver Smith dominated that round. The cut man is working on Chuck Gracie's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Gracie blocks the body kick.
Smith throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Horrible takedown attempt by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith, which made it look bad. Smith leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Smith has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gracie on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Oliver Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup. Smith throws a right and a left that both miss. Smith finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Gracie shoots and misses and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie moves out of range as Smith throws a body kick.
Oooooh!!! Smith has knocked Gracie down with a huge combo! Smith steps away and waves a wobbly Gracie back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Gracie is rocked!
Chuck Gracie's cut is getting worse. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gracie fails to land the takedown. A little jabbing left from Smith on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Smith goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Gracie seems to have got his legs back now. Smith scores with a body shot.
Smith closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Gracie! Smith dives in looking to finish! Gracie is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oliver Smith! An out of breath Oliver Smith thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
