Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike KnockOut (ranked 2114 p4p, 5767 weight class) and Curtis Rohl (ranked 264 p4p, 559 weight class). Curtis Rohl has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike KnockOut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis Rohl!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rohl clinches with his opponent.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
KnockOut is trying to break free.
Rohl lands an elbow just above KnockOut 's eye.
Rohl looking to slow down the pace here.
KnockOut is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Rohl is keeping busy.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Rohl wants to stall.
Rohl looking to stall.
Rohl stalling in the clinch.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Curtis Rohl.
Rohl fails in his attempt to clinch.
It looked like KnockOut was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rohl.
A low kick from Rohl is predictable there
and KnockOut counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rohl looks to clinch
and Rohl takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Rohl closes the distance and clinches.
KnockOut on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
KnockOut wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rohl tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and KnockOut avoids it.

KnockOut's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
KnockOut blocks a head kick by Rohl.
KnockOut is looking to counter punch.

KnockOut lands a jab.
Rohl does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Curtis Rohl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rohl moves to clinch but KnockOut breaks away
and KnockOut counters with a nice uppercut.
Rohl tries to close the distance and clinch up but KnockOut swats him away and circles back towards the center.
KnockOut swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Rohl dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on KnockOut. That did some damage!
KnockOut blocks a head kick by Rohl.
Rohl tries to close the distance and clinch but KnockOut swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A little feinted left hand from KnockOut on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Rohl with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Rohl closes the distance and pushes KnockOut back into the cage.
KnockOut is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
KnockOut blocks the elbow strike.
KnockOut letting Rohl take a breather here.
KnockOut holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Rohl has KnockOut pressed against the cage, preventing KnockOut from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

KnockOut blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
KnockOut avoids the elbow strike from Rohl, against the cage.
KnockOut dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Rohl is looking to control KnockOut's arms but KnockOut gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rohl has his back to the cage.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by KnockOut as Rohl tries to tie him up.
Rohl is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and KnockOut has denied him.
KnockOut tries to break free but Rohl pushes him back against the cage.

KnockOut breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
KnockOut swats away the attempt to clinch by Rohl.
Rohl tries to clinch there but KnockOut circles away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rohl fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and KnockOut has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Rohl rushes KnockOut and presses him up against the cage.

KnockOut's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rohl misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A counter left hand to the body from KnockOut misses its target.
Rohl throws a sloppy head kick and KnockOut moves out of range easily.
KnockOut lands a slapping body shot.

Rohl has managed to clinch.
KnockOut blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
I was talking to KnockOut's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
KnockOut is trying to break the clinch but Rohl is controlling him.
KnockOut on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Rohl has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. KnockOut seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Rohl can turn it around.

KnockOut breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rohl takes a swing at KnockOut's ribcage but misses.
A head kick by Rohl misses
and KnockOut counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
KnockOut connects with a nice looking jab.
Rohl drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Rohl tries to clinch there but KnockOut circles away.
Rohl throws a sloppy body shot
enabling KnockOut to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
KnockOut blocks a head kick by Rohl.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rohl throws out a leg kick but KnockOut moves out of range and Rohl only half commits.
KnockOut throws a big counter combination but Rohl scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Rohl throws a head kick that misses.
KnockOut seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Rohl dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on KnockOut. That did some damage!
Rohl looks to clinch
and KnockOut counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Rohl is rocked!
Rohl tries to clinch but KnockOut moves away
and KnockOut counters with a huge right that knocks Rohl out cold! KnockOut is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mike KnockOut!
A very excited looking Mike KnockOut made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
