Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Fortuna (ranked 2419 p4p, 2875 weight class) and Simo Halli (ranked 341 p4p, 393 weight class). Fortuna comes to the cage accompanied by Godfather Theme by Nino Rota. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bruno Fortuna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Simo Halli!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halli decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Fortuna is defending against the submission attempts here by Halli.

Fortuna wants to get back to his feet.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Halli working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Fortuna has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Halli is on him like a limpet, forcing Fortuna back against the cage.
Fortuna prevents Halli from breaking the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fortuna gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Simo Halli has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Halli using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Fortuna has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Fortuna connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Halli momentarily.

That has opened up Simo Halli's cut even more.
Halli takes an elbow to the temple.
Nice body punch from Fortuna - that landed with a thud.
Halli breaks the clinch.
A low kick lands for Fortuna.
Halli drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fortuna is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Halli ducks right into an uppercut from Fortuna.
Fortuna is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Halli shoots in but no luck this time.
Halli dives in for a single leg takedown but Fortuna sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Halli is defended easily by Fortuna.
Bruno Fortuna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Simo Halli.
Nice uppercut lands for Fortuna. That snapped Halli's head back.
The cut above Simo Halli's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Fortuna misses with a series of wild punches.

Halli is standing up over Fortuna. Fortuna looks to escape but Halli dives into side control.
Fortuna wants to get back to his feet.
Halli has an Americana. Fortuna didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Halli is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Halli hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
