Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Justin Case (ranked 788 p4p, 297 weight class) and Snappy Whiplash (ranked 84 p4p, 32 weight class). Whiplash has chosen Rapt (TRZTN Remix) - Karen O as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Case! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 11 - 3, fighting out of Tokyo, Snappy Whiplash! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Case sizes up Whiplash with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Case lands a lovely overhand right. Whiplash looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Whiplash turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Case gets caught flat footed, as Whiplash shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Case is on top in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Case's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Whiplash wants to sweep here but Case controlling him for the moment. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Case accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We've been hearing that Case has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Whiplash has his foot on Case's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Case works his way back into a safe position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Whiplash is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Case wants to stand up but Whiplash is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Whiplash accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Case wants to sweep here but Whiplash controlling him for the moment. Whiplash loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Whiplash postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Whiplash is stalling in the full guard. Whiplash working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Whiplash trying to control but Case is working from the bottom. Whiplash is working Case over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Whiplash postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Whiplash throwing strikes from guard but Case blocks nicely. Whiplash loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Case working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Whiplash.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. A nice inside leg kick there by Case. That's going to slow Whiplash down. Whiplash takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Case thows a left - swing and a miss! Whiplash throws a front kick that sends Case stumbling back into the cage. Whiplash scores with a nice head shot. Whiplash fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Case manages to avoid it. Case stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Whiplash. Whiplash throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Case bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Whiplash's head. Case punishes Whiplash's body with a nice straight punch. Whiplash throws a shot from downtown. Case moves away and avoids it. Whiplash throws a head kick that misses. Case takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Snappy Whiplash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Whiplash fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Case on the side of the head. Case takes one to the chin there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Whiplash chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Case tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Whiplash manages to circle out of the way. A swing and a miss from Whiplash. Case throws out a loose jab but Whiplash uses good head movement to avoid it. Whiplash looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Case is looking to chop away at Whiplash's legs. A slapping leg kick lands for Whiplash.

Whiplash scores with a jab. Case scores with a jab to the body. Whiplash scores with a sloppy right hand. Case should have avoided that one. Whiplash throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It looked like Case was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Case walks into a jab. A chopping leg kick lands by Case. Whiplash lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Whiplash throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Case to counter with a crisp jab. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Snappy Whiplash dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Whiplash throws a body shot but no joy. Some bone on bone action there as Case checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Case slips under a jab from Whiplash. Case throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Whiplash connects with a solid leg kick. A good leg kick by Whiplash. Whiplash throws a head kick that misses. Whiplash connects with a good right hand that stumbles Case. Case circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Whiplash throws a head kick but Case moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whiplash misses with an uppercut. A shot to the liver by Whiplash. Beautiful body shot. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Case is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Whiplash on the wrong end of a nice jab. Snappy Whiplash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! A clash of legs there as Whiplash blocks the low kick. Case steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Whiplash. Whiplash throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Case on the side of the head. Case looks to throw the jab but Whiplash is out of range. Case throws a low kick, looking for Whiplash's leg but Whiplash calmly moves out of range. Whiplash shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Whiplash showed some decent athleticism there. Whiplash is just content to waste time from the top position. Case takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Case keeping moving, preventing Whiplash from controlling successfully.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Case preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Whiplash lands a nice leg kick that just misses Case's sensitive parts. Whiplash lands a head kick. Case smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Whiplash postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Whiplash throws a big right hand that misses. Whiplash stands up over Case, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Whiplash throwing strikes but missing. Whiplash controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Case bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Whiplash's guard. Whiplash manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Case manages to get himself to full guard.
Whiplash has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Case utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Snappy Whiplash comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Whiplash has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
