This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 55 wins and 28 losses; Matvey Pavlov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 20 wins and 9 losses; Marcinho Sitsongrit! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Sitsongrit looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pavlov is fending him off so far but Sitsongrit persists. Nope, Pavlov circles away and we're back to standing. Sitsongrit moves into range and clinches up with Pavlov. Pavlov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Pavlov drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sitsongrit gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Pavlov has Sitsongrit pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sitsongrit manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Sitsongrit gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pavlov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Sitsongrit felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Sitsongrit makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sitsongrit. Pavlov wants to pass the guard but Sitsongrit is keeping the position. Pavlov postures up.

Sitsongrit seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Pavlov stands and throws Sitsongrit's legs to the side, diving into side control. Sitsongrit tries to lock up and control but Pavlov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Pavlov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sitsongrit is desperately trying to improve his position but Pavlov has a good base and remains in mount.

Pavlov manages to capitalize on a mistake by Sitsongrit to take his back! Score +3 for taking back: Pavlov (11) vs (2) Sitsongrit Pavlov looking to break Sitsongrit's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Sitsongrit remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pavlov will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Sitsongrit tries to roll but Pavlov sticks to his back.

Pavlov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sitsongrit is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Sitsongrit trying to control the hands but Pavlov breaks the grip. Sitsongrit is really stuck here.
