This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 30 wins and 16 losses; Joe Average! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 21 losses; Moldy Jello! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Average shoots in looking for a takedown but Jello manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Average's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Jello tries for a takedown but Average sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice takedown defense from Average. No joy for Jello on that attempt. Jello throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Average's waist but Average gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jello off to one side. Joe Average has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Moldy Jello. Jello looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Average slaps away a takedown attempt from Jello, before circling back to the center of the mat. Average changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Moldy Jello seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Average shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jello napping and manages to drive through into side control! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Average (4) vs (0) Jello Average taking a breather here. Jello is looking to regain half guard here but Average keeps moving and retains side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Average works to advance to full mount. Jello defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Score +2 for reaching mount: Average (6) vs (0) Jello Average controlling the position easily from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jello tries to lock up and control but Average gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Average is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Jello is in real trouble.

We've been hearing good reports from Average's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Jello wants to improve his position but Average is controlling well.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Average stopping the sweep attempt from Jello. Jello controls Average momentarily but Average frees himself. Average controlling from the top position. Jello pulls Average in close to his closed guard and prevents Average from doing any damage or advancing position. Jello wants to reverse the position here. Average has hold of a leg though and he's dropped back looking for a kneebar! The fighters roll across the mat but Jello is forced to tap! Jello looks devastated but at least his leg points in the right direction.
