Takahashi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Maximum The Hormone -Koi no Mega Lover kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Takahashi.
Takahashi throws a sloppy head kick
and Requina counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Requina keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Requina looks to throw the jab but Takahashi is out of range.
Takahashi throws the kick towards the body but Requina avoids it.
Requina is looking to counter punch.
Good leg kick by Takahashi.
Takahashi misses with a combination
and Requina counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Requina darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Takahashi fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Requina is out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takahashi attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
It looked like Requina was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Takahashi.
Takahashi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Daiki Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Requina counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Requina blocks a head kick by Takahashi.
A quick step to the side and Requina tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Requina makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Takahashi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

and Requina counters with a crisp right that sends Takahashi to the canvas! Requina follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Manuel Requina decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
In defeat, Daiki Takahashi stepped up to the mic, saying 'Each loss contains its own lesson on how to improve performance the next time.'.
