Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Garyn Girith (ranked 1139 p4p, 1460 weight class) and Jamal Hudak (ranked 122 p4p, 165 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Garyn Girith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamal Hudak! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Hudak misses with a takedown and Girith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hudak shoots for a double leg takedown but Girith sprawls well. He's pushed Hudak's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Girith was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Hudak throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hudak fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Girith sprawls well initially but Hudak persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Girith looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Girith tries to roll over but Hudak keeps him under control. Hudak tries to pass to full mount but Girith defends it. Girith is trying to control but can't.
Girith is in trouble now - Hudak has advanced to mount! In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hudak working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Hudak lands a nice shot to the head. Girith is trying desperately to improve position. Girith sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Girith is trying to get back to full guard. Hudak passes to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Girith struggling a bit here. Hudak advances to full mount. Hudak scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Girith?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hudak landing strikes, looking to finish! Hudak with good strikes from the mount here! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hudak working Girith over with strikes here. Girith tries to hold on but Hudak pushes him away. Hudak tries to control but Girith wriggling away. Hudak lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Girith hang on?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oooooh, big shot lands for Hudak! Girith is hurt baaadly! Hudak is firing away with more strikes - Girith is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
