Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terence Erenberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Robert Cap!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cap looks to land a combination but Erenberg avoids it well.

A quick step to the side and Erenberg tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cap's coach down at Brloh was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cap's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

and Erenberg counters with a single leg into guard. Cap didn't expect that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cap is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cap is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Erenberg is controlling him.

Cap looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Erenberg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cap swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Erenberg content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Cap working for a triangle but Erenberg defends it easily.
Cap can't keep his opponent in guard - Erenberg advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Erenberg connects with a nice short shot to Cap's temple.
Erenberg has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Erenberg looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Erenberg is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Erenberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Cap is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cap trying to keep a closed guard but Erenberg is proving a slippery customer.
Erenberg slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cap is on top in guard.


Erenberg throws his legs up looking for a submission but Cap uses it to pass to side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Erenberg is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Cap is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Erenberg sees it coming and defends easily.
Cap prevents Erenberg from improving his position.
Erenberg is staying active underneath Cap, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Erenberg moves into full guard.
Erenberg is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cap trying to hold on to Erenberg's head to control him but Erenberg postures up.
Cap is looking to escape.
Erenberg tries to pass to full mount but Cap defends it.
Erenberg lands strikes from half guard.
Cap on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Erenberg is looking to advance position but Cap won't allow it.

Erenberg is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Erenberg lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Erenberg is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Cap regains half guard.
Cap is trying to maintain the position but Erenberg is very close to passing his half guard.
Erenberg passes to full mount!

Erenberg moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cap has worked his arm free - good work by Cap!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cap is trying to improve his position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Terence Erenberg dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters circling - Cap throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Erenberg connects with a body shot that sends Cap's belly button to the back.

Erenberg closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Erenberg creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Cap is looking for a sweep.
Erenberg landing a few strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Erenberg connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cap some visible discomfort.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cap is trying to control Erenberg's posture but Erenberg avoids it.
Terence Erenberg overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Erenberg is working to tighten his grip on Cap's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Cap has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Erenberg is really squeezing tight and eventually Cap passes out! Erenberg breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
