PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Maran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lelo Multipass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lelo Multipass will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Maran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lelo Multipass!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maran closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
An elbow from Maran crashes against the mat.
Maran throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Maran scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Multipass to see if he's OK.
Maran is working Multipass over with some ground and pound from side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maran lands a nice forearm strike.
Multipass defending against the ground and pound.
Maran scores with punches from side control.
Multipass is working to avoid the ground and pound but Maran connects with a decent elbow.
Multipass wants to get back to his feet but Maran drags him back down.
Multipass taking punishment in the form of punches.
Maran scoring with punches from side control.
Maran cracks Multipass with a big elbow.
Maran creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Multipass sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Multipass is looking to reverse the position.

Maran decides to stand back up. Maran steps back and let's Multipass get back to his feet.

Maran changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Multipass looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Maran is working Multipass over with some ground and pound from side control.
Maran throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Maran working the ground and pound from side control.
Maran is breathing heavily.
Maran is chipping away with strikes.
Multipass takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Maran scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Multipass to see if he's OK.
Maran in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Maran misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Multipass wants to control but Maran postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Maran is working Multipass over with some ground and pound from side control.
Multipass is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Maran off and has taken his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maran is in bad spot here.
Maran has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Multipass tries to keep control of the position but Maran is staying busy.
I really don't envy Maran right now.
Multipass trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Maran doesn't escape.
Maran wants to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Multipass trying to control momentarily.
Maran is in bad spot here.
Multipass lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Multipass.
Maran tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Maran flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Multipass can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Maran is looking to escape.
Maran on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Maran tries to get out of the position.
Maran is desperately trying to improve his position but Multipass has a good base and remains in mount.
Multipass tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Maran is squirming around, avoiding Multipass's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maran is looking to improve his position but Multipass isn't that keen on the idea.
Multipass controlling the position easily from mount.
Maran swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Maran throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Multipass can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Maran is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arthur Maran dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Multipass scores with a jab. Maran acknowledges it with a nod of the head.


It looks like Arthur Maran has been cut.
Maran slips a straight right by Multipass.
Multipass lands a nice shot that snaps Maran's head back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maran looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maran.
Multipass cracks Maran with a hook to the temple - Maran is on wobbly legs here! Multipass swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Maran falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Multipass wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Lelo Multipass!
