Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mai Punani (ranked 4484 p4p, 4349 weight class) and Senior Tres Santos (ranked 155 p4p, 520 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mai Punani! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Senior Tres Santos! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Punani closes the distance and clinches up with Tres Santos, looking for a takedown. Punani pushes Tres Santos against the cage but Tres Santos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Tres Santos throws a sloppy body shot
and Punani counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tres Santos! Tres Santos is trying to get back to half guard. Punani wants to control but Tres Santos is keeping him busy. Tres Santos tries to improve position but can't. Tres Santos wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Punani tries to move into full mount but can't pass Tres Santos's legs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Punani is trying to get an arm triangle but Tres Santos is defending well. Tres Santos tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Punani with shots to the head and body - Tres Santos looks very uncomfortable down there. Tres Santos is working to get back to half guard.
Punani working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Tres Santos turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Punani off and cradles Tres Santos's limp body as Punani celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Mai Punani! A relieved looking Mai Punani thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
