Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rylee Mannion (ranked 23741 p4p, 3716 weight class) and Caua Takeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takeda comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Oba, La Vem Ela kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Caua Takeda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rylee Mannion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caua Takeda! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takeda has Mannion up against the cage in a clinch.
Takeda looks to throw an elbow but misses. A short right hand to the side of the head by Takeda. Takeda throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Takeda has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mannion uses from the top position. Takeda is working an open guard so Mannion takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Takeda closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Mannion has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Takeda regains guard immediately. Mannion might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Takeda keeping full guard, as Mannion tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Takeda looking for a guillotine here but Mannion defends easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Takeda is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mannion is aware though and is defending well. Our spies down at at Alpha Brasil inform us that Takeda has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
That's one minute gone in the round. Mannion wants to pass the guard but Takeda is keeping the position. Takeda not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mannion controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Takeda manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mannion manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mannion trying to keep a closed guard but Takeda is proving a slippery customer.
Takeda wants to control from the top but Mannion keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Takeda's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Takeda trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mannion is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Takeda throwing strikes but missing. Takeda trying to control but Mannion is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takeda is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mannion keeping moving, preventing Takeda from controlling successfully. Takeda throws a big elbow that misses. Takeda content to stall in guard here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Takeda shoots in for a takedown but Mannion shows good takedown defense. Mannion drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mannion trying to control the position from guard on top but Takeda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takeda has his foot on Mannion's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mannion works his way back into a safe position though. Mannion knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Takeda on the ground. Takeda looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Takeda looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mannion is one step ahead there. Takeda manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mannion manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mannion keeping moving, preventing Takeda from controlling successfully. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Caua Takeda dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Mannion keeps the fight on the outside. Mannion gets a takedown into half guard. Takeda is trying to get back to full guard. Takeda gets full guard. Takeda looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takeda is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Mannion has his hands clasped together but Takeda extends and breaks Mannion's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Takeda.
