Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pul Gaurd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rios comes to the cage accompanied by Insane in the Membrane. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaurd misses with a takedown attempt - Rios sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rios darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rios wants to free his trapped foot but Gaurd is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gaurd looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Rios is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gaurd doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rios.
Gaurd is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rios's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rios's back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they both work up against the meshing.
Rios has one foot on Gaurd's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gaurd is looking to clinch but Rios is avoiding it.
Rios closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rios lands in his opponent's guard.

Rios advances position into side control!
Gaurd sneaks out the side door and pushes Rios away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Gaurd has a takedown stuffed.

Rios will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Rios looks for a takedown but Gaurd sprawls well.

Rios changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gaurd looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gaurd is looking to reverse the position.

Gaurd slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Gaurd looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rios is one step ahead there.
Gaurd trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Rios has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Rios prevents Gaurd from standing back up.
Well, if Rios is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Rios seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gaurd for as long as he can get away with.
Gaurd is looking to improve his position.

Rios swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rios shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rios was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rios knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gaurd on the ground.
Gaurd is looking to get to half guard.
Gaurd is breathing heavily.
