Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pip Saville (ranked 4419 p4p, 2934 weight class) and James Jury (ranked 509 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pip Saville! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Jury! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jury rushes Saville and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Saville tries to land knees in the clinch but Jury avoids the damage to the body. Saville breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jury lands a nice leg kick that just misses Saville's sensitive parts. Saville avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Saville throws a leg kick that is checked and Jury counters with an inside leg kick. Saville misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jury throws a counter combo. Jury looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jury decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Saville looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jury throws a counter combo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jury closes the distance and pushes Saville back into the cage. Saville stalling the fight.
Saville has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jury avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pip Saville. That's going to take a lot out of him. Saville breaks the clinch.

Jury forces Saville back against the cage and clinches. Saville tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jury just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jury tries to score a body lock takedown but Saville shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Saville wants to take the fight to the mat but Jury manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Saville is trying to pull guard but Jury turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Saville is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jury is pressed up against the cage. Saville has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jury down to the mat. Jury avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Jury closes the distance and pushes Saville back into the cage. Jury pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Saville closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jury circles away. Jury drives through and clinches with Saville against the cage.

Jury moves into the clinch. Jury pulls guard effortlessly. Saville has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jury keeping moving, preventing Saville from controlling successfully. Jury looking to hit a scissor sweep but Saville is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jury is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jury utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jury manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Saville manages to get himself to full guard.
Saville working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Jury has passed into half guard!
Jury slows the pace down in half guard. It looks like Jury might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
James Jury dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Jury dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Saville. That did some damage! Saville shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jury defends it nicely. Saville is looking to clinch but Jury is avoiding it.
Jury with a lazy takedown attempt and Saville counters with a head kick. A clash of legs there as Saville blocks the low kick. Jury forces Saville back against the cage and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jury has hold of one of Saville's legs. Saville is fighting the takedown attempt but Jury gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Jury controls from within his opponent's guard. Saville keeping moving, preventing Jury from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saville controlling the position. Jury would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Jury is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jury decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Saville, up you get! Jury has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jury gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jury is working for takedown but Saville is calmly controlling the position for now. Jury breaks from the clinch.

Jury will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pip Saville has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Jury. Saville shoots for a double leg takedown but Jury sprawls well. He's pushed Saville's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jury shoots in and drives through. Saville sprawls well. Saville appears to be looking for a big counter. Saville is looking to clinch but Jury is avoiding it.

Jury fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Saville, pushing him back against the cage. Saville avoiding damage as Jury throws knees to the body.

Saville tries for a takedown but Jury sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Saville fails with a takedown attempt. A nice inside leg kick there by Jury. That's going to slow Saville down. Jury gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Jury turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Jury lands a nice looking body kick. Jury throws a head kick that misses. Jury feints and then cracks Saville's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Saville down. This has been an exciting period of action! Jury stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jury wants it to stay on the feet. Jury closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Jury's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jury connects with a solid leg kick. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
James Jury showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Saville breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Saville doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Jury to counter with a crisp jab. A slapping leg kick lands for Jury.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Saville or perhaps it was just good defense by Jury, which made it look bad. Jury shoots for a takedown but Saville saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jury closes the distance and clinches up with Saville, looking for a takedown. Jury pushes Saville against the cage but Saville circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Saville drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jury sprawls and moves away. Saville is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jury. Saville with a lazy takedown attempt and Jury counters with a slapping leg kick. Jury has Saville up against the cage in a clinch.

Jury pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jury throws a right and a left that both miss. Jury lands a two punch combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jury throws a series of strikes that have Saville backpedaling.

Jury tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saville swats him away and circles back towards the center. Saville shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jury defends it nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! James Jury comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jury has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
