Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Catchy Cartwright (ranked 2150 p4p, 6559 weight class) and Cathal O Doherty (ranked 236 p4p, 482 weight class). Cartwright comes to the cage accompanied by Spiders. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Catchy Cartwright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cathal O Doherty!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Chris Dean and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright throws a sloppy body shot
and O Doherty counters with a good low kick that Cartwright was not able to check.
Cartwright misses with a hook. O Doherty ducked under it nicely.
Cartwright drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
O Doherty avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Cartwright.

Cartwright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

O Doherty throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cartwright escapes and throws O Doherty's legs to the side, diving into side control!

O Doherty tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cartwright wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

O Doherty might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cartwright haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Cartwright is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and O Doherty defends it well.
O Doherty is looking to control Cartwright's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can O Doherty avoid being mounted?

Cartwright is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. O Doherty doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cartwright.
O Doherty wants to get back to full guard.

Cartwright lands a big elbow - O Doherty is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Cartwright!
