Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Axel Montenegro (ranked 1082 p4p, 817 weight class) and Roder Control (ranked 32 p4p, 22 weight class). Montenegro kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Battle. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Control misses with a right hand
and Montenegro counters by clinching up.

Control wants to get back to his feet but Montenegro is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Montenegro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Control is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Montenegro dives into side control.

Montenegro creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Control sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Control pushes Montenegro away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Montenegro gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Montenegro looks up at the clock and then as Control takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Montenegro smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Control is in a horrible position here. Montenegro smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Control really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Montenegro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
