Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Slim Slow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raja Jooseppi!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slow connects with a single shot there.
Jooseppi misses with a lunging right hand
and Slow counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Raja Jooseppi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slow uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jooseppi.
Nice uppercut there from Jooseppi.
Slow defending well as Jooseppi loads up on a big left hand.

Slow seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Slow lands a really nice looking cross but Jooseppi seems unphased.

We've been told by Slow's head coaches at New York Training Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Good standup being displayed there by Slow as he connects with a hook.
Jooseppi throws a jab but it's blocked by Slow.
It looked like Slow was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slow wants to clinch up but Jooseppi keeps it at a distance.
Slow ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Slow throwing a counter right hand but Jooseppi manages to avoid it.
Jooseppi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Slow is looking to clinch.
Slow is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Nice jab there from Slow.
Jooseppi throws a looping overhand right but Slow ducks down to avoid it.
Slow lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jooseppi backs up against the cage.
Jooseppi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slow as he avoids it easily.

Jooseppi shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Slow is trying to defend but Jooseppi finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jooseppi connects with a nice short shot to Slow's temple.
Jooseppi winds up and cracks Slow with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jooseppi prevents Slow from standing back up.
Jooseppi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Slow looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jooseppi is nestled in close to Slow, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jooseppi is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Slow is trying to stand.
Jooseppi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slow with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Slow on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Slow tries to get out of the position.
Jooseppi content to control rather than advance.
Slow taking some punishment here, with Jooseppi in his half guard.

Jooseppi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Slow tries to buck Jooseppi off but he can't manage it.
Jooseppi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jooseppi content just to control the position here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
It looks like Jooseppi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Jooseppi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Jooseppi looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Slow covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Raja Jooseppi!
Raja Jooseppi decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
