PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angus Graham (ranked 2896 p4p, 3410 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 365 p4p, 440 weight class). Doe has chosen Beastie Boys - Gratitude as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. John Doe will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Angus Graham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graham lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Graham tries to clinch up.

Graham definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Doe circles away from the clinch attempt.
A nice leg kick from Graham, right into the meat of the thigh.
Doe avoids the body shot from Graham.

Graham throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Graham lands a nice leg kick that just misses Doe's sensitive parts.
Graham dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Doe. That did some damage!
Graham tries to work over Doe's front leg with a kick but Doe checks it.

Graham gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Doe to score an easy takedown into full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Graham is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Doe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Graham gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Doe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Graham can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Graham got a little sloppy there for a moment and Doe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Graham has managed to get both his arms back between Doe's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Graham fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Doe manages to avoid it.
A nice side step and Doe releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Graham looks to land a right hand but Doe moved out of range.
Graham scores with a one two! Doe had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

The fighters circle momentarily. Graham darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Doe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Graham was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Graham lands a head kick. Doe smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Graham lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Doe has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Doe and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Graham creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Doe with a big uppercut! Doe tries to clinch up but Graham pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Doe to the mat! Doe covers up and Graham unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Angus Graham!
