Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Minnagh (ranked 2774 p4p, 2294 weight class) and Jolly Roger (ranked 363 p4p, 305 weight class). Roger has chosen Under Jolly Roger as his entrance music. Bobby Minnagh has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Minnagh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jolly Roger! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roger drives through with a takedown into guard. Roger told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Roger postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Minnagh wants to stand but Roger is controlling the position. Roger throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Minnagh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Minnagh is pulling down on Roger's head. It's preventing any offense from Roger, at least for the moment. Roger throws an elbow that misses. Minnagh uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Roger's guard. Nice move by Minnagh!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roger keeping full guard, as Minnagh tries to pass. Minnagh has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Minnagh looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Minnagh stands up from Roger's guard - Minnagh perhaps looking for a knockout. Roger misses with a takedown attempt - Minnagh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roger swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Minnagh comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Roger swings for the body but Minnagh moves out of range.
Minnagh on the wrong end of a nice hook. Roger takes a swing at Minnagh's ribcage but misses. Nice cross by Roger. Roger throws a lazy uppercut
and Minnagh counters with an outside leg kick.
Roger misses with a wild body shot. Minnagh is looking to counter with a body kick. Roger misses with a hook
and Minnagh counters with a three punch combo that has Roger backing up. Roger nods at Minnagh to acknowledge the strikes. Roger missing with a left hand there. Minnagh was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. As Roger backs away, Minnagh returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Roger throws a hook but Minnagh avoids it easily. Roger misses with a takedown and Minnagh counters with a lovely straight right hand! This has been an exciting period of action! Roger shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Minnagh counters with a head kick that wobbles Roger - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Minnagh sends him down. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Minnagh! Bobby Minnagh decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
