Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bartholomew Slice (ranked 4969 p4p, 6054 weight class) and Giuseppe De Rossi (ranked 534 p4p, 606 weight class). Giuseppe De Rossi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bartholomew Slice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giuseppe De Rossi!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from De Rossi.
De Rossi closes the distance and clinches up with Slice, looking for a takedown. De Rossi pushes Slice against the cage but Slice circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
De Rossi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slice as he jumps to the side.
Slice was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
De Rossi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - De Rossi lands in his opponent's guard.
De Rossi wants to control from the top but Slice keeps moving.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slice wants to improve his position but instead De Rossi has moved into half guard.
Slice tries to roll over but De Rossi keeps him under control.

Slice looks like he's trying to stand up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
De Rossi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Slice tries to get to full guard but De Rossi has control of the leg.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
De Rossi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Slice swivels and escapes.
Slice is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Bartholomew Slice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giuseppe De Rossi.

It looks like Giuseppe De Rossi has been cut.
Slice throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent De Rossi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
De Rossi is still on wobbly legs! Can Slice finish him?
Slice lands a right hook to the body.
Slice clinches with his opponent.
De Rossi seems to have recovered his senses.
Slice lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Slice scores with a nice hook to the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Slice digs a right hand into De Rossi's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on De Rossi's gas tank.

Slice lands a hook that snaps the head of De Rossi backwards.
Slice lands with a right to the head.
Slice works on De Rossi's body with a couple of short punches.
Slice escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Slice wants to clinch up but De Rossi keeps it at a distance.

De Rossi looks up at the clock. Bad move! Slice lands a right hand from hell, dropping De Rossi. Slice pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
