Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Ryker (ranked 6289 p4p, 24658 weight class) and Luca Rossi (ranked 645 p4p, 732 weight class). Rossi has chosen Lamu as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Ryker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luca Rossi!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryker blocks a head kick by Rossi.
Rossi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A head kick misses from Rossi.
Ryker misses with a body shot
and Rossi counters with a left and a right that stings Ryker.
Ryker scores with a one two! Rossi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Ryker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ryker sets himself, and Rossi steps forward looking for the clinch! Ryker avoids it this time.
A punch combination from Rossi misses.

Rossi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ryker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rossi is working away from the top position though.

Rossi trying to mount his opponent but Ryker defends it.

Rossi stops Ryker from getting back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rossi wants to control but Ryker is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ryker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rossi circles away.
Ryker darts in looking for a takedown but Rossi gets double underhooks and turns Ryker into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Ryker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rossi is trying to break free.
Ryker has Rossi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rossi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ryker is looking for a takedown.
Ryker throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Ryker jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rossi walks away with a smile on his face. Ryker gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Rossi is trying to counter with his kicks.
Ryker doesn't manage to clinch there - Rossi circles away.

Rossi slips a jab and a cross from Ryker.
No luck for Ryker with that takedown attempt.
Rossi takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ryker fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ryker is breathing heavily.
Rossi throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ryker is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A head kick misses from Ryker.
As Ryker backs off Rossi throws a huge counter combo but Ryker manages to avoid it all.

Rossi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rossi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rossi looks to land a combination. Ryker sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Ryker has a takedown stuffed.
Ryker shoots in for a takedown but Rossi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ryker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rossi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rossi wants it to stay on the feet.

Ryker gets caught napping as Rossi dives in and scores a takedown. Ryker manages to retain guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rossi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ryker's guard.

Rossi wants to take a breather but Ryker is having none of it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Luca Rossi dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Rossi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ryker's guard.

Ryker pushes Rossi off and scrambles back to his feet.
Ryker tries to clinch up but Rossi circles away and keeps his distance.
Rossi tries to clinch but Ryker moves out of range.
Ryker tries to close the distance and clinch but Rossi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ryker avoids the head kick by Rossi.

Rossi looking to score a takedown here. Ryker is defending well but Rossi drives through and ends up in Ryker's guard.
Ryker is wriggling around but Rossi manages to pass to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ryker is looking to control Rossi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ryker avoid being mounted?
Ryker is looking to improve his position.

Ryker is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

Rossi is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Rossi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rossi wants it to stay on the feet.

Ryker gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Rossi manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rossi tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rossi wants to stand up but Ryker is controlling him.

Ryker stands up from Rossi's guard - Ryker perhaps looking for a knockout.
Rossi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rossi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Ryker tries to pull guard but Rossi holds him up against the cage and eventually Ryker drops back down to his feet.

Ryker ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ryker no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Rossi stands up and waves to Ryker to follow him.

Ryker fails with the takedown
and Rossi counters with a nice uppercut.

Rossi slaps away a takedown attempt from Ryker, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rossi is defended easily by Ryker.
Rossi pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Ryker has closed the distance and engaged Rossi in a clinch.

Rossi is trying to push Ryker away but Ryker has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Ryker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rossi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ryker defends it nicely.
Rossi stuffs the takedown.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ryker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ryker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
As Rossi backs away, Ryker returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Luca Rossi will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Ryker wants to clinch.
Jack Ryker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rossi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ryker as he avoids it easily.
Ryker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rossi's waist but Rossi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ryker off to one side.
Ryker moves out of range of the body kick.
It appears Ryker was looking to counter with a kick there.
Rossi tries to clinch but Ryker is having none of it.

and Rossi counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryker keeping moving, preventing Rossi from controlling successfully.

Ryker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ryker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ryker is really struggling to control Rossi but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Ryker wants to sweep here but Rossi controlling him for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ryker is looking to clinch.
Ryker throws a head kick that misses.
Ryker scores with a shot to the body.
Ryker wants to clinch.
Rossi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ryker tries to clinch up but Rossi circles away and keeps his distance.

Jack Ryker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luca Rossi.

Ryker throws a head kick but Rossi moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rossi.
Ryker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rossi defends it nicely.

Rossi throws a sloppy head kick and Ryker moves out of range easily.
Rossi scores with a head kick. Ryker tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Rossi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rossi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ryker shoots in looking for a takedown. Rossi tries to sprawl out of it but Ryker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rossi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ryker goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ryker manages to break the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rossi looks for the body kick but Ryker saw that one coming.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Luca Rossi.
I've got Rossi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
