Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Law (ranked 1087 p4p, 468 weight class) and Craig Watkins (ranked 173 p4p, 73 weight class). Law comes to the cage accompanied by Country Boy Can Survive. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tyson Law! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig Watkins! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watkins lands with a hook. Law tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Watkins throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Law sees it coming and avoids it easily. Law fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Watkins sprawls well initially but Law persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Law not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Law is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Watkins has managed to free his arm - good work. Law prevents Watkins from standing back up.
Law missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Law is looking for a kimura but Watkins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Law to get the leverage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Law wants to work for an arm triangle but Watkins is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Watkins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Watkins throws a nice outside leg kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Watkins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Law manages to avoid it. Law avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Craig Watkins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Watkins has taken the fight to the clinch.

Watkins bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Law's head backwards. The fight moves into the clinch position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Watkins has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Law is on him like a limpet, forcing Watkins back against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Law blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Craig Watkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round! Law loads up on a big right hand but Watkins slips the punch. No joy there for Watkins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It's hard to tell if that hurt Law or not. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Law gets control of Watkins's arms and successfully pulls guard. Law will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Law seems to have got his legs back now. Law trying to strike off his back.

Watkins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Law moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Law throws a big counter combination but Watkins scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Watkins rushes Law and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Tyson Law has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Watkins misses with a hook from the clinch. Watkins lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Law's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Watkins leaves Law with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Watkins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Watkins waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Law. Law shoots in looking for a takedown but Watkins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Law's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Watkins fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Law to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Law looks to clinch but Watkins throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Law taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Craig Watkins! A relieved looking Craig Watkins thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
