The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tataglia shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Murderer is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Tataglia pulls his head out easily. Murderer looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. It looks like Tataglia is going to stand back up.
Murderer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Murderer trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's one minute gone in the round. Tataglia has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Murderer is proving hard to escape from. Murderer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Murderer is breathing heavily. Murderer throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Tataglia wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Murderer.
You get the feeling that Tataglia really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Tataglia is trying to stand but he's just given Murderer his back. Tataglia trying to get back to his feet but Murderer is in full control for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Murderer misses with a punch to the head. Murderer is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tataglia knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tataglia for a finish. Tataglia trying to get back to his feet but Murderer is in full control for now. Murderer is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tataglia is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Tataglia moves into the clinch. Tataglia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tataglia tries to clinch up. Tataglia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Murderer sprawls well initially but Tataglia persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Murderer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Murderer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tataglia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Murderer working a defensive guard but Tataglia passes into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murderer is trying to stand back up but Tataglia is controlling him
Murderer is looking to control Tataglia's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Murderer avoid being mounted? Murderer regains full guard. Nicely done. Murderer pushes a forearm under Tataglia's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Tataglia is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
