Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lou Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Coker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lou Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Coker!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter feints and as Coker raises his hands in defense, Carter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Carter trying to control but Coker is working from the bottom.
Coker wants to sweep but no luck.
Carter has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Carter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Coker is keeping the position for now.
Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Coker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carter wants to stand but Coker is controlling his posture from full guard.
Carter looking to sit in guard and control but Coker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Carter looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Coker dodges the punch combination from Carter.
Coker fails with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Coker.

Carter moves into the clinch.
Coker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carter smiles and moves away.
Lou Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek Coker.
Carter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Carter throws a head kick that misses.
Carter waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Coker.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Carter moves in looking to clinch but Coker pushes him off.
Coker fails with the takedown

and Carter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Coker's guard.
Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Coker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carter stays in close to Coker's body and controls the position.
Carter is breathing heavily.
Coker wants to sweep but no luck.
Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Coker is trying to keep Carter in close.
Carter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Coker seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Coker is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Coker working for submissions but it's allowed Carter to get to half guard.

Carter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Coker tries to roll over but Carter keeps him under control.
Coker is staying active underneath Carter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Coker tries to kick Carter off but Carter keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter is looking to take a break and control but Coker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Coker looks like he's trying to stand up.
Still in half guard, Carter seems content to control.

Carter shoots in but Coker avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Carter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Carter wants to clinch up but Coker keeps it at a distance.
Coker circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lou Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Coker lands a high kick!
Coker avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Carter blocks a head kick by Coker.
Carter misses with a wild combination.
Coker doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Carter counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Coker!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Coker is squirming around, avoiding Carter's attempts to control the action.
Carter is really struggling to control Coker but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Coker tries to hold on but Carter postures up.
Carter looking to control but Coker is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Coker regains half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Coker manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Carter drops back, looking for a kneebar! Coker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Coker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Coker!
Carter tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Carter is working hard here to advance position.

Coker decides to stand up, so the ref orders Carter to his feet.
Coker fails to land the takedown.
A head kick misses from Carter.

Carter is adopting a defensive guard.
Carter is trying to hold Coker in close to prevent damage but Coker has managed to pass into half guard.

Coker is looking for a kimura here.
Carter gets full guard.
Coker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Coker wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Coker tries to stand but Carter is controlling from the bottom.
Carter wants to sweep here but Coker controlling him for the moment.
Coker wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Derek Coker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Carter darts in and clinches Coker up against the cage.
Coker throws a knee to the head but misses.
Carter is working Coker over against the cage.

Carter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Coker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carter pinned against the cage. Carter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A combination from Carter does no damage.

Carter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Coker's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Carter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Coker keeping moving, preventing Carter from controlling successfully.

Coker lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Carter!
Coker looking to control but Carter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Carter really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Carter regains half guard.
Carter trying to hold on to Coker's head to control him but Coker postures up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Coker stands up from half guard.
Carter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Coker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Coker wants to clinch.
Coker closes the distance and clinches up with Carter, looking for a takedown. Coker pushes Carter against the cage but Carter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Carter looking to sit in guard and control but Coker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Carter wants to get back to his feet but Coker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carter is trying to keep Coker in close.
Coker wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
Carter working a defensive guard but Coker manages to pass into side control anyway.
Lou Carter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coker taking a breather here.

Coker stands up.

Carter scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Coker is trying to stand up here but Carter is controlling him well.
Carter wants to pass to mount but Coker is defending the position.
Coker is refusing to be controlled, as Carter sits in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lou Carter showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Carter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
