The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Schmico coming out on top.
Schmico connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Schmico shoots in for a takedown but Prometheus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A clash of legs there as Prometheus blocks the low kick.

Schmico dives in for a single leg takedown but Prometheus sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
It seemed like Prometheus was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

We've been hearing reports that Schmico has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Schmico comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Schmico fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Prometheus avoids it really well and circles away.

Schmico closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Prometheus to the mat! Prometheus manages to get full guard.
Schmico stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prometheus swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Schmico has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Schmico drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schmico jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
