Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Darren McCarty!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Santu Avisu Kona!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarty dodges the punch combination from Avisu Kona.
Avisu Kona shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. McCarty eats them both and turns towards Avisu Kona to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Darren McCarty has been cut.
McCarty swings for the body but Avisu Kona moves out of range.
McCarty moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
McCarty drops Avisu Kona with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Avisu Kona looks back up at him and smiles so McCarty waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Avisu Kona is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McCarty throws a pinpoint strike between Avisu Kona's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Avisu Kona crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and McCarty scores a great knockout victory!
