The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Sershurrapal instigates a clinch. Sershurrapal is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. I was talking to Baikonurov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Baikonurov decides to pull guard. Sershurrapal drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Baikonurov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sershurrapal has Baikonurov in his guard.
