Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luke Menzies (ranked 6247 p4p, 6761 weight class) and Darius Morgandorffer (ranked 484 p4p, 502 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Menzies might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Madison Beer - Blue (Live from The Ellen DeGeneres Show). Darius Morgandorffer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menzies throws a sloppy head kick

and Morgandorffer counters with a takedown into side control.

Menzies throws Morgandorffer to one side and escapes!
Menzies looks for a takedown but Morgandorffer sprawls well.
Morgandorffer tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Menzies gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Morgandorffer counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Morgandorffer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Menzies knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morgandorffer on the ground.

Menzies looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Morgandorffer has picked Menzies up and slammed him! Menzies can't keep hold of the triangle and Morgandorffer manages to pass to side control!
Menzies manages to get back to half guard.

Menzies is squirming around, avoiding Morgandorffer's attempts to control the action.

Morgandorffer lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Morgandorffer has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Menzies's face.

Menzies wants to control but Morgandorffer is having none of it.
Menzies is in a horrible position here. Morgandorffer smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morgandorffer lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Morgandorffer lands a big shot there that rocks Menzies but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oh Menzies is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Morgandorffer lands a heavy elbow.
Morgandorffer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Morgandorffer prevents Menzies from getting the reversal.
