Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rich Voss (ranked 1946 p4p, 3012 weight class) and Toe Fungas (ranked 250 p4p, 373 weight class). Rich Voss could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Toe Fungas's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rich Voss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Toe Fungas!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fungas takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Voss misses with a looping left.
Voss throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Fungas counter with a right hand.
Fungas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Some wild striking there from Fungas.
Voss scores with a jab to the head.
Fungas staying out of range there.
Voss avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fungas with a nice calf kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Voss checks a leg kick.

Fungas looks to score with a jab to the body but Voss is just out of range.
Voss throws a lazy right hand but Fungas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Voss connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Fungas's hands.
Voss fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fungas avoids it really well and circles away.

Voss is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've been hearing that Voss has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Voss wants to control from the top but Fungas keeps moving.
Voss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fungas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fungas can do anything to dispel that myth.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Voss accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Fungas is looking to stand up but Voss isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fungas will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Voss keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Voss missing with a left hand there. Fungas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Voss uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fungas.

We've been informed that Fungas has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Fungas clobbers Voss with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Voss shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fungas sprawls well. Fungas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Voss gets slowly back to his feet.

and Voss counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fungas won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

You can see the frustration on Fungas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rich Voss dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fungas lands a nice hook to Voss's body. Voss takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Voss catches Fungas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Voss throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fungas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Toe Fungas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Voss gets to mount! Fungas was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Voss scoring with strikes but Fungas is staying in there.
Voss has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fungas is controlling an arm, preventing Voss from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Fungas tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Voss moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Fungas has worked his arm free - good work by Fungas!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Voss is looking to take a break and control but Fungas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Voss looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Fungas is avoiding damage well.
Voss throwing shots but missing, from side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Toe Fungas.
I think Fungas has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
