Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Axel Montenegro (ranked 613 p4p, 639 weight class) and Abdullah Zaire (ranked 15 p4p, 17 weight class). Montenegro comes to the cage accompanied by Battle. Axel Montenegro could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Abdullah Zaire's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Axel Montenegro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abdullah Zaire! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zaire is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Montenegro's half guard. Zaire tries to pass to full mount but Montenegro defends it. Zaire stalling. Zaire is pressing down on Montenegro's thigh, looking to free his foot. Montenegro is holding on for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zaire is still trying to improve position. Zaire has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at White Eagle. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montenegro is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zaire is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Montenegro is just riding it out for now. Zaire eventually gives up the hold. Zaire seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Montenegro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Zaire might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Montenegro haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Montenegro on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Montenegro tries to get out of the position. Zaire trying to control the pace. Montenegro's coaches at have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Zaire looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Zaire is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Montenegro defends it well. Zaire keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. It looks like Zaire might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Zaire will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Zaire drives through and clinches with Montenegro against the cage.
Zaire pulls guard effortlessly. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Zaire is trying to control the position but Montenegro postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zaire escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montenegro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Zaire trying to keep a closed guard but Montenegro is proving a slippery customer.
Montenegro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zaire has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Montenegro has managed to get both his arms back between Zaire's legs - danger averted. Montenegro scoring with punches to the head and body. Montenegro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Zaire had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Montenegro defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montenegro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zaire has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Montenegro has managed to get both his arms back between Zaire's legs - danger averted. Zaire has an active guard here but Montenegro has managed to pass into half guard.
Montenegro knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zaire on the ground. Zaire moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Montenegro stands up over Zaire, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Zaire is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Abdullah Zaire dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Montenegro moves in looking to clinch but Zaire pushes him off. Zaire clinches with his opponent.
Zaire has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Montenegro uses from the top position. Zaire is pulling down on Montenegro's head. It's preventing any offense from Montenegro, at least for the moment. Montenegro throwing strikes from guard but Zaire blocks nicely. Montenegro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zaire swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zaire has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Montenegro doesn't defend quickly enough and Zaire has managed to lock this one up! Can Montenegro escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Zaire on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Abdullah Zaire! A relieved looking Abdullah Zaire thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
