Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Pop (ranked 6002 p4p, 2737 weight class) and Leffe Vulk (ranked 621 p4p, 354 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jimmy Pop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leffe Vulk! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab from Vulk. Vulk looks to score with a jab to the body but Pop is just out of range. Vulk swings for the body but Pop moves out of range.
Pop tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vulk swivels and escapes. Pop rushes Vulk and presses him up against the cage. Vulk tries to work over Pop's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Pop working some nice short punches in the clinch. Pop swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Pop definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Pop tries to work over Vulk's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Pop misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Pop blocks a body shot from Vulk. Vulk manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Pop pushes Vulk back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vulk tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Pop's elbow. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Vulk. Pop working aggressively here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vulk misses with a hook to the ribs.
Vulk misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Pop tries to pull guard but Vulk won't allow it.
Vulk trying to land knees to the body.
Vulk breaks the clinch.
Pop tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vulk manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Vulk's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pop under the eye. Pop keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pop moves into the clinch. Vulk misses with a punch to the body.
Pop working aggressively here.
Vulk is pushing Pop up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Pop tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vulk's elbow. Pop can't find room to land a body shot as Vulk controls the action.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pop.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pop swings wildly with an uppercut but Vulk uses good head movement to avoid it. Pop prevents a body shot from Vulk. Pop has a couple of punches blocked by Vulk.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. A head punch blocked on the inside by Vulk. Pop tries to pull guard but Vulk holds him up against the cage and eventually Pop drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Pop. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vulk looking to stall.
Vulk blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Nice body punch from Pop - that landed with a thud.
Pop struggles to land a body shot inside as Vulk controls his hands.
Vulk prevents a body shot from Pop.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pop ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pop no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Vulk makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Vulk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vulk is looking to work some ground and pound but Pop has wrist control. Pop trying to control the position.
Vulk throwing strikes but missing. Vulk wants to pass the guard but Pop is keeping the position. Pop wants to control the position but Vulk says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Pop is staying active underneath Vulk, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Vulk is pressing down on Pop's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pop is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pop is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vulk's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vulk's back! Pop is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Vulk with him. Vulk is trying to defend but Pop has an arm under the chin now! Vulk grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jimmy Pop!
