Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Ruud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joshua Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peter Ruud!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruud shoots in and drives through. Drake sprawls well.

Drake scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Drake advances nicely into full mount.
Ruud really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Drake wants to control the pace but Ruud is squirming around nicely.
Drake controlling the position easily from mount.

Drake wants to finish this one by submission but Ruud is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Drake.
Ruud wants to hold on but Drake pushes him away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ruud regains half guard.
Ruud wants to control but Drake is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Drake seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Ruud is looking to improve his position.
Drake works his way into side control.
Ruud really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drake. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Drake decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Drake tries for a takedown but Ruud sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Ruud looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Drake!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drake tries to lock up and control but Ruud gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ruud is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Drake can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ruud looks gassed!
Drake is trying to escape the mount.
Ruud tries to control but Drake wriggling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drake sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Ruud content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Ruud is keen to just control but Drake is a slippery customer.
Drake tries to get to full guard but Ruud has control of the leg.
Ruud is thwarting Drake's attempts to control the position.
Drake moves into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Drake looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ruud is one step ahead there.

Drake throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ruud should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Drake looking to control.
Drake has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Ruud trying to control the position from guard on top but Drake is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joshua Drake dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ruud goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Ruud tries to close the distance and clinch but Drake swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Drake tries to clinch there but Ruud circles away.
Ruud is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Drake showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ruud.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A combination from Ruud does no damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ruud doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ruud is breathing heavily.
Drake throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Drake shoots in and bounces Ruud off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Drake wanted to stand there but Ruud had control of the position.

Drake decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Drake catches Ruud napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Ruud to the canvas!


Ruud is rocked!


It looks like Peter Ruud has been cut.

Ruud is working an open guard so Drake takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ruud misses with a takedown
and Drake counters with a crisp right that sends Ruud to the canvas! Drake follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joshua Drake!
