Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marwin Mueller (ranked 2509 p4p, 3741 weight class) and Mike Carpenter (ranked 332 p4p, 471 weight class). Mike Carpenter has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Marwin Mueller's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carpenter felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mueller lands a nice short elbow.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mueller seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carpenter for as long as he can get away with.
Mueller's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
