Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Australian RooMan (ranked 12762 p4p, 6330 weight class) and Jean Luc Picard (ranked 679 p4p, 602 weight class). Australian RooMan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Australian RooMan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Luc Picard! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Picard thows a left - swing and a miss! A looping hook to the body misses from RooMan. Picard does a little dance to reset his feet. Picard thuds his right hand into RooMan's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. RooMan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A big right from RooMan misses. RooMan looks to land a right hand but Picard moved out of range. Picard has managed to clinch.
Picard misses with a punch on the inside.
A short uppercut from RooMan. RooMan throws a punch but it's blocked by Picard. Picard working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. RooMan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

We've been informed that Picard has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. RooMan is trying to break the clinch but Picard is controlling him. RooMan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. RooMan needs to keep his hands up - Picard had a free shot at his head there. RooMan throws a combination that misses and Picard counters with a nice uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Picard moves into the clinch successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Picard tries to land knees in the clinch but RooMan avoids the damage to the body. Picard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Picard looks to land a combination but RooMan avoids it well. RooMan is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
RooMan swings and misses with a shot to the body and Picard counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. RooMan takes a swing at Picard's ribcage but misses. Picard unleashes a big counter combination but RooMan bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Picard tries to close the distance and clinch up but RooMan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Picard drives through and clinches with RooMan against the ropes.
RooMan wants to break the clinch but can't.

Picard moves to clinch but RooMan breaks away and RooMan counters with a nice uppercut. Picard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Picard tries to bum rush RooMan with a series of wild strikes but RooMan uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Picard tries to clinch but RooMan is having none of it. Picard moves in looking to clinch but RooMan pushes him off. Picard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Picard looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. RooMan throws out a loose jab but Picard uses good head movement to avoid it. Picard on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Picard is rocked! RooMan catches Picard with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Picard forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Australian RooMan! After winning the bout, Australian RooMan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. The defeated Jean Luc Picard had this to say: 'It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not weakness, that is life.'.
