This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 25 wins and 16 losses; Dick Diaz! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 13 losses; Pavel Savkov! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Diaz moves into the clinch. Diaz is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Savkov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Diaz manages to pull guard.
Savkov has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Rivers Edge Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
