Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Magomedov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Syndal's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Magomedov (2) vs (0) Syndal Magomedov sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Magomedov looking to pass the guard. Magomedov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Magomedov passes Syndal's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Magomedov uses his free foot to push down on Syndal's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Syndal. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Magomedov wants to take his opponent's back but Syndal doesn't allow it. Syndal trying to control the hands but Magomedov breaks the grip. Magomedov working for the choke. Magomedov is working for a rear naked choke. Syndal is not defending it well and Magomedov has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Syndal refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Syndal's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
