Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Theador Cruse (ranked 2209 p4p, 3165 weight class) and Jemeljans Valter (ranked 282 p4p, 403 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Theador Cruse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jemeljans Valter!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valter just misses with a punch to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Cruse. Those never looked like landing.
Cruse throws a good cross that connects.
Valter moves forwards but Cruse connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Valter on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Cruse misses with a two punch combination.
Cruse definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Cruse throws a head kick but Valter moves out of range.
Cruse uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Valter.
Valter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cruse manages to avoid it.
Cruse misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Valter tries to counter by closing the distance.
Cruse throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cruse scores with a body shot.
Valter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Valter misses the shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cruse will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cruse scores with a decent looking hook.

Valter shoots in and gets a takedown into Cruse's guard.
Valter engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Cruse is looking for a triangle but Valter pushes his legs off easily.
Valter stays in close to Cruse's body and controls the position.

Cruse is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Valter trying to control the position from guard on top but Cruse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Valter tries to free his leg and advance position but Cruse is retaining full guard.
Valter working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Valter looking to pass the guard.
Valter content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Valter is working Cruse over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Valter advances to half guard.
Valter scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Cruse manages to get to full guard.
Valter pushing down on Cruse's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Valter takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Valter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cruse with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Valter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cruse keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Valter looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Cruse tries to roll over but Valter keeps him under control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Valter lands strikes from half guard.
Cruse regains full guard. Nicely done.
Valter works over Cruse with some ground and pound from guard.
Valter wants to control from the top but Cruse keeps moving.

Cruse is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Valter is aware though and is defending well.
Valter working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cruse's head.
Valter is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Valter working some strikes from top position.
We've been informed that Valter has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Valter lands a couple of elbows.

Cruse is rocked!

Cruse has his foot on Valter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Valter works his way back into a safe position though.
Cruse is breathing heavily.

Valter scoring with punches to the head and body.
Oh Cruse is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Valter stands up over Cruse, holding on to his feet. Valter throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Cruse is out cold! Valter lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jemeljans Valter!
A relieved looking Jemeljans Valter thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
