Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Mondell (ranked 5744 p4p, 24791 weight class) and Xavier DeJesus (ranked 634 p4p, 758 weight class). Mondell's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Snoop Dogg Feat Nate Dogg, Warren G - Im Fly. DeJesus comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fond my mind kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Xavier DeJesus acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gordon Mondell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xavier DeJesus!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mondell misses with a takedown
letting DeJesus counter with a right hand.
Mondell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts DeJesus as he jumps to the side.
DeJesus throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mondell is looking to counter punch.
Mondell gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and DeJesus counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gordon Mondell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
DeJesus moves into the clinch successfully.
Mondell is looking to take this one to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mondell tries to score a body lock takedown but DeJesus shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Mondell is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. DeJesus gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Mondell tries to pull guard but DeJesus won't allow it.
DeJesus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

DeJesus has closed the distance and engaged Mondell in a clinch.
Mondell is trying to pull guard but DeJesus has him pressed against the ropes.
Mondell has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics DeJesus uses from the top position.
Mondell working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because DeJesus has passed into half guard!
DeJesus is looking for a kimura here.
DeJesus lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Mondell flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
DeJesus blocks the strikes from Mondell.
Mondell is pressing down on DeJesus's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Mondell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mondell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mondell has a closed guard, preventing DeJesus from standing up.

Mondell has his foot on DeJesus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. DeJesus works his way back into a safe position though.
DeJesus is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Mondell has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. DeJesus is looking to defend but Mondell has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for DeJesus! Mondell pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, DeJesus taps out and this one is all over!

After winning the bout, Gordon Mondell thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
