The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laden bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Laden jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Laden shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sonnen eats them both and turns towards Laden to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Sonnen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sonnen advances to full mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sonnen lands a heavy elbow.

It looks like Bin Laden has been cut.
Laden wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Bin Laden's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Sonnen loads up with a big shot that hurts Laden! He's pulled Sonnen in close but Sonnen has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Laden survive? More strikes from Sonnen and Laden is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
