Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shaquan Woods (ranked 478 p4p, 705 weight class) and Wilmerr Fudd (ranked 63 p4p, 97 weight class). Wilmerr Fudd acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shaquan Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wilmerr Fudd!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fudd on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

It looks like Wilmerr Fudd has been cut.
Fudd takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Woods cracks Fudd with an uppercut from hell and Fudd crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Woods's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Woods is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Woods continues to stall.
Woods tries to free his leg and advance position but Fudd is retaining full guard.
Fudd seems to have recovered his senses.

Fudd tries to lock up and control but Woods gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Woods's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Fudd is wriggling around trying to escape.

Woods is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Fudd has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Woods is working for a guillotine from mount but Fudd frees his head quite easily.

Woods takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fudd is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Woods tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fudd knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Woods moves into the clinch successfully.
Woods is leaning against Fudd and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Woods lands a left hand.

Fudd has Woods pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Woods manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Woods pushes Fudd back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

We've been informed that Fudd has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Woods steps into range and cracks Fudd with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Fudd flops backwards and Woods dives into his guard looking to finish!

Woods is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fudd can do to turn this around?

Woods sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fudd's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woods looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Woods is looking to stand but Fudd has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Woods sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Shaquan Woods overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Woods forces the positional change into back control.
Woods controls the position.
I really don't envy Fudd right now.
Fudd is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Woods has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fudd has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Woods is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Woods has the hooks in. Fudd is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Fudd throws a right hand that misses
and Woods counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Fudd changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
We've been told by Woods's head coaches at King's Cross MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Woods explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Woods and Fudd goes tumbling to the canvas! Woods follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Woods tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Woods has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Woods thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Woods wants to stand but Fudd has his arm trapped.
Fudd is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
