Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryer McGuire (ranked 70 p4p, 192 weight class) and Leif Leifsson (ranked 10 p4p, 32 weight class). McGuire kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Leifsson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for McGuire.
Leifsson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McGuire.
Leifsson throws the left hand but McGuire avoids the punch easily.
Leifsson moves out of range of the leg kick from McGuire.
McGuire uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Leifsson.
McGuire misses with a head kick.
Leifsson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Leifsson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McGuire manages to avoid it.
Leifsson throws a jab but it's blocked by McGuire.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leifsson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McGuire can pounce on him.

McGuire has managed to clinch.
Leifsson lands a left hand that snaps the head of McGuire backwards.
Leifsson tries to work over McGuire's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Leifsson digs a right hand into McGuire's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on McGuire's gas tank.

Leifsson told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

McGuire tries to throw a body punch but Leifsson avoids it by throwing McGuire back against the cage.

No joy there for Leifsson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Leifsson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Leifsson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McGuire misses with an uppercut
and Leifsson counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Leifsson gets tackled into the cage by McGuire. McGuire maintains the clinch.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

McGuire takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Leifsson closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops McGuire! Leifsson dives in looking to finish! McGuire is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
