The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Fuguego shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Fuguego showed some decent athleticism there. Fuguego tries to get the hooks in deep but Kruth pushed the leg off. Fuguego is persistently looking for the submission but Kruth is defending it well.

Kruth defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. You can see the frustration on Kruth's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Kruth looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fuguego might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kruth is just content to waste time from the top position. Fuguego takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kruth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position.
