Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Fonua Blake (ranked 2428 p4p, 1830 weight class) and Hunt Mfer (ranked 342 p4p, 264 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mfer darts in looking for a takedown but Fonua Blake gets double underhooks and turns Mfer into the cage.
Mfer misses with a series of wild punches.
Fonua Blake seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Fonua Blake with a nice cross.
Fonua Blake lands with a slapping head kick.
Fonua Blake throws a right hand that Mfer ducks under and follows up with a left that Mfer also avoids with ease.

Fonua Blake instigates a clinch.
Mfer scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Mfer prevents Fonua Blake from breaking the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Mfer.
Mfer scores with a hook to the body.

Fonua Blake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mfer jabs Fonua Blake to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Mfer darts in and clinches Fonua Blake up against the cage.
Mfer lands an uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Mfer.
Fonua Blake is breathing heavily.
Fonua Blake can't break the clinch.
Fonua Blake looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mfer has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Mfer lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Fonua Blake or not.

Mfer lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Mfer wants to pass to mount but Fonua Blake is defending the position.
Mfer passes to side control.
Fonua Blake wants to get back to his feet.
Fonua Blake prevents Mfer from improving position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mfer is trying to work for a kimura but Fonua Blake is defending well.
Mfer uses his free foot to push down on Fonua Blake's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fonua Blake.
Fonua Blake is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
